Thanks Iain, I appreciate the tips.… Jim: Yes, and vignetting. I always lightly blur and darken the edges of my images. Believe it furthers the illusion. And, there is never a reason for the eye to wander out to the false borders of the image. It reminds that it is only a 2D picture.
It sure does feel that way, I am glad Iain gave it his magic touch!That's the magic of post: it's the same picture yet it evokes a completely different set of mind. Looks like decades have passed already.
Its interesting that in an expensive lens, the parts of the image that are out of focus are the most important.… This morning I was watching some YouTubes on Saul Leiter. An absolute master at creating magic from earlier camera technology. Magic which is lost with generations of technological “advancements”. Of course, camera companies blame everything else for their increasing commercial failure…
