I like this one better. No clue why yet but this one sucks me right into the scene immediately. Maybe this one has more of a central focal line with the light? Very definite keeper.

I'm with Alan, it's better. The color is a bit less-wild and the path through the image work's to my liking.

Yes, Jim. This is another super shot with a re-arrangement of the same elements. Not to be recalcitrant - but I like the first, at least equal with this one!
 
By the way, Jim, as I look at this more and more I think that plant may be Winged Saltbush. No way to tell for sure unless I see it first hand.

Thanks Alan. As a pure photograph this one is probably better then the 1st I think. The cloud that's lit up is complete in this, and looking to the south the 2 mountain ranges converge on the horizon. The 1st photo I posted did have what looked like the complete Sierra Range, but at the expense of cutting off the cloud.
