The Recipe #22 - Intimate Scenes

I always think of intimate scenes as something small but "eye of the beholder" is as good as any. I do like these reflections.

Very cool looking Kyle. Havasu sure has some of the best reflected water scenes ever.

I would think... an Intimate Scene is one that is close in tight to a subject and it excludes extraneous objects that would be visible had someone shot wider.

Like Ken has that Intimate scene of his daughter spinning wool. It's a tight shot that excludes the rest of the room she was in, and just focuses on her and the spinning wheel.

Or Barry and his moss/fern I think it was. It's a tight scene shot in the rain forest where all of the trees are ignored, and its a tight intimate shot of a small area.

Not sure if there is a "legal" definition for it, it's more of a guideline with the intent of being a tighter scene most often shot at a longer focal length.

What do you guys think?

I have one I took this weekend that I will process and see if it fits. I thought it had to be of a small object.

Yep, I don’t think the size of the object has anything to do it. The object can be any size, it’s simply a close and intimate view of that object.
