The Rosette Nebula in Narrowband OHS

The gorgeous Rosette emission nebula or Caldwell 49 is a vast HII region and very active stellar nursery about 5,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Monoceros and about 130 light-years across. The stars in the central 'Satellite Cluster' provide the nebula's glow. This is one of my favorite targets as it is rich in signal and detail.

168 x 300s OHS subs shot @-10C spread across 5 nights for a total integration time of 14hrs

This is how it should be done! :)

I am glad you posted this today after I just posted my Rosette, so I can look back and forth between them. I know my stars got really too hot and large, but in addition, it's sure nice seeing all of the little details in yours that I am missing in mine. I will be using this image as some homework for mine.

Yours will be great as well Jim once you get more data. Remember you can always come back at a later date and collect more. We both seem to have similar fov's so will be interesting to see how yours evolves.
