I’ve been asked to permanently assume the Thursday’s Task role and hope to engage your interest each week. To see what you’ve seen, captured and edited is my reward.

Thursday’s Task: Layers in the landscape (atmospheric perspective or overlap perspective). My examples below:

Alan, the Shore Acres image is surprising (in a good way) with the two juxtaposed elements. Nice! The reflections in the Sweet Creek shot is such a contrast to the green of the moss and ferns––another surprise! The first image's foreground rock certainly adds to this tranquil scene's interest.

Thank you so much John for taking Thursday's Task over! It's really appreciated.

I am out at Joshua Tree at the moment, so I don't have many images at hand, so I will do with an Infrared image that I had just posted in the Infrared Section. Its from the Grand Canyon.

Dan, really like your first image with the clouds hiding the peaks and of course the water leading your eye into the scene. The sky and landscape below in the Zabriskie image create a interesting image too. I really like the greater sky to land proportions in your third image––a beautifully serene landscape. The last image is perfectly composed with subtle layering too.
