Thursday’s Task: Telephoto lens landscape. My examples below:
Great Sand Dunes National Park, CO
Scenic Byway 128, UT
Monument Valley Tribal Park, AZ
Craig, gorgeous series of images you’ve shared—I especially favor ”Sundown” and “Blanketed Dunes.” The composition of “Edge of Earth” is particularly nice as well as a beautiful image.Starting around 85mm and up to 200mm
I thought I had a lot of them, but it seems I usually use an 85mm tilt-shift lens or a 70-200mm for longer perspectives...

Michael, thank you for the kind compliment. A beautiful series of images, the White Mountains landscape is very well captured with good color—my favorite. The Hot Creek landscape benefits with the telephoto lens use—well seen.John, another great intro image. If only my graphic design skills were anywhere near yours...

Lastly Highland Scotland@400mm but cropped a lot so equivalent of 1500mm. This is the same location as the first image and you may notice these trees in the background although they are taken 1 yr apart. Ken

Good image Ben, I like the foreground branch pointing to the Throne in the background.
Dan, beautiful images all! Can’t choose a favorite! Your final image is a wonderful abstract––love it! The "view from Turtle Back Dome" has good composition and color and the "Oak in Summer, Metcalf Rd" makes a very, very nice B&W––good composition here as well. The "From the road to Schulmann grove, looking west" has very interesting composition (good use of the telephoto lens) and a nice pastel coloring.View attachment 52206
