Daffodils are our usual sign of Spring but the ones in our garden are past their best so it will have to be a tulip. Their is a cherry tree with blossom in a neighbour's garden but I will not disturb them just for a photograph. Ken

Thanks Peter - this is the advantage of loading images into the Gallery. You can load a much larger image (up to 3000 pixels wide) and then link it in your post. Clicking on the post image brings up the Gallery version.

One of the first flowers to open during the spring in the Midwest is Bloodroot. It has beautifully elegant leaves and petals. Here are three images of this plant.

A beautiful set, full of bright colors dominated by four colors - red, green, yellow and white, the leaves are beautiful in their structure.. it would be very nice if they were a little bigger to see the nice detail. Very nice.

Peter, beautiful image. I like the brighter, colorful petals contrasting with the subdued background—it’s darker shadows give movement to the composition.
