Doug, nice shots. IMHO, the Valley of Fire is a hidden little gem, it's worth several days of stay.

Unfortunately we don't have multi coloured hills. In Scotland the hills are covered in a few inches of soil and vegetation but where rivers have scoured out the soil we have got some nice layers twisted into all sorts of shapes.

This is from North Iceland. The van was stopped to air down the tires & give us a break. I wandered off to pee & found this unusual formation.

Not sure these badlands qualify as rock, but they sure are colorful. Cow Dung Rd.
