Valley of fire

I stopped here on the way home form Grand Canyon and with only one afternoon and morning it was more a get acquainted type of visit. The hours seem to mitigate against golden hour photography unless camping in the park, and I was in a nearby motel for this visit.

This is pre sunrise for the last morning.

Love the colors on the ground. A pano
Crop would bring more attention to the foreground since the sky is relatively flat.

Valley of fire is an interesting place with many different personalities.

Hey Ben,

This is really nice, that’s a great foreground! I like this soft light.

Yeah, it’s sad they have such limited hours. I usually try to set up for my sunset shots closer to the road or parking areas so I can be within hollering distance of the park ranger when they drive by at sunset to kick everyone out.

The campground looks like the place to stay for sunrise/sunset shots. Alternately make sure you visit in the winter when the sun goes down early and they haven't closed the place yet. Nice colors to the ground. Kinda have to agree with Jameel about cropping out some ion the the stark raving naked sky.
