Varied Thrush

These guys have been hanging out in my backyard this week. I shot these handheld through the window from my computer desk with a 100-400mm.

Ha ha.... now that's the way to go! Just sit in your computer chair and take photos of cool looking birds! That's quite the deal.

2 very nice shots here. I like the look of them both, though I may like #1 just a bit better.

Beautiful bird - wish we had some of those down my way. My wife has about a dozen different types of feeders in our backyard so we get a very good sampling of all the local species and I have never seen one of these.

Thanks for the comments guys. I cleaned the windows inside and out Ben. This is the first year I've really noticed them in my yard, and have been seeing them quite a bit around the general area more than I remember Alan, so keep your eye out and they may head your way.

Love this bird Jim. We hear them in the alpine forests all the time but rarely see them. Their call is hauntingly beautiful. Lovely images.
