Vernal Falls in B&W

I had posted that color shot of Vernal Falls in Yosemite earlier in the week. I had a feeling I would like it in B&W perhaps more, and was also thinking that a vertical composition would be nice with this to help balance the pour off in the foreground with the falls in the background.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

This crop and the B&W conversion work very well for this scene. I like it.
Thanks so much Alan, I am glad you like this version. It's cool too with the D850, even with the crop, this still is close to a 20mp image!

That's the crazy part to get used to sometimes. I have been going through all of my olde digital images and adding keywords to make searches easier and had a bunch of Canon D60 images from 2003 on my screen. I was interested in seeing some details for one of the images in front of me so I clicked on 1:1 with the Navigator in Lightroom. The 6mp image shrunk on my 4K screen........

I have quite a few 6mp images from the 10D. When I upgraded to the 8mp 1Dm2, it was a big upgrade.

Good choice, this one really works for me. If it were mine I'd try darkening the bare trees on the left which pull my eye that way.

This works well - showcases the falls better. Maybe a teeny bit more clarity/detail on the granite? Granite has such great texture for b&w...

I like this crop also, however I like the color version of this crop.
Thanks so much Jameel. I am leaning towards this B&W version now, but I should crop the color too just to be fair, as I did like aspects of the subtle color in it. :)

Thanks so much Jim, I am glad you liked this version! I did actually darken that area already as those bare trees caught my eye too. But I will go back and see if I can darken them some more without it being obvious.
