Thanks Jim. the aurora looks nothing like what I thought it would, just a thin, wispy white cloud to the naked eye. we saw it the previous night but actually didn't realize that it was the northern lights.Very cool Pepper! No wonder you couldn't wait to get a first stab at processing this. That's pretty cool with the car in it. And.... congrats on getting an Aurora!!!! That's still on my list to capture some day.
One thought for you. Though the stars don't look too bad for having this a 40 sec shot, I think I would go down to 30 secs and just increase the ISO to 1600.
Congrats on the Aurora!!!!
thank you Ben.Very nice
Thanks Alan. I never would have imagined a volvo as a foreground either. but we stayed in a really nice hotel that was an old schoolhouse. the owner kept his classic car collection out back. This would be well up my list for "Things I never thought I would try to include in a frame".
And.yet.it.works.......
Delightful result.
thanksNice!
thank youThis is great
thanks. i want to head back to iceland too and i just got home. i'll repost this once i edit it properly. we had a really good showing of the aurora on our last night, but i had to make due with only mountains and a lake for a foreground.Well that's a very fun image - and very unique! You are making me want to get back to Iceland - love that place! Look forward to you posting again if you do some further editing on this one to improve on what is already a great image!
