A few days earlier, Utah Lake was not yet frozen over. A few days later it was snow covered and thus not reflective. Sorry this is so long, it takes that long to show the whole thing, about 30 miles of the Wasatch range. Provo Utah is one of the many cities on the other side of the lake.

This covers the span from Lehi to Spanish Fork, probably 1/2 million people live along that stretch.
