Really nice, Guy.Here's Metlako Falls from the Columbia Gorge. Hardly an original subject, but I jumped for joy when the sun briefly broke through the heavy cloud deck and backlit the scene.

I hope you took an image of that group with Old Faithful going off in the background.. If so I would love to see it, Monica.Beautiful again, Alan (of course!)
I think I have about a month of waterfalls left. This one is from Yellowstone. I went in August a handful of years ago. I knew it'd be crowded, but hadn't anticipated the number of bikers going to Sturgis. If I were a street photographer, I'd have had a heyday! Everyone from Asian tourists, Amish, middle America to gnarly looking Harley bikers (all in black leathers except one girl in sparkly pink!) all gathered at Old Faithful. Pretty cool.

Nice one - I'm with Doug - any chance you turned around to take an image of your viewpoint compatriots?Beautiful again, Alan (of course!)

I posted an extra one on your behalfMore great waterfall images guys, and thanks for starting this Alan. Nothing from here as I am all out.
That is one of my favorites from Eagle Creek. Still hoping this area wasn't too badly damaged. Here's Metlako Falls from the Columbia Gorge. Hardly an original subject, but I jumped for joy when the sun briefly broke through the heavy cloud deck and backlit the scene.
I do like that Angel Falls image.Ok! Here are two waterfall from the Sedona area. One is a different version of Secret Canyon Waterfall and the other is Angel Falls.

Beautiful - I like the edit. Here's a new edit of the Lower Yosemite falls moonbow...
Glad you did - I love the details you got with that shot.Havasu Creek- It was tough lugging a 4x5 at the bottom of the Canyon.
Very nice - I like the small icicles at the end of the branch overhanging the falls.Less spectacular than other presentations here...
This has some neat contrasts in the colors of the icy river cobbles and the stream which work really well with the snowy banks. Nice one.Kyle and myself must have Yosemite on our minds! Mine is from a few years back when there was some good snow in Yosemite, this is run off cascading down from Bridalveil.
Wow!
Lots of great stuff here...
Here is my humble contribution
Very nice set Stephan - those are some beautiful falls.Hooker, High, and Triple Falls in NC.
Too bad about the fencing but glad you found a way to shoot this - a very different view of that canyon.Wow!! This is getting to be a popular feature. Plenty of great images again. I was driving from Bryce Canyon back to my home in Cottonwood, AZ in a driving thunderstorm. The storm abated just as I was getting to Page, AZ and I was treated to a view of waterfalls cascading into Glen Canyon. I pulled over just before the bridge and walked on the sidewalk along the bridge to one of the small view openings they have in the cyclone fencing. I contorted my tripod so I could get my camera into the small opening and captured this image.

I'm afraid I didn't. I didn't shoot Old Faithful from the audience area, but from farther out on the trail. I tried both wandering around and from in front of the restrooms, facing the crowd as they left, but I didn't know how to do it surreptitiously, so they saw me & froze or turned away. I think that I'd like to go back some year & just ask the bikers if I could shoot them. The ones I've encountered in the SW on their way to Sturgis have been the "modern" Harley bikers - accountants, doctors and other upper-middle class middle-aged professionals who can afford the price tag of Harleys.
BTW, that shot I posted wasn't anywhere near Old Faithful and there wasn't anyone behind me![]()
Was this from a river trip, Tom? Brings back memories & makes me look forward to the next time!
That's a lot of water for that particular spot. I have seen that at barely a trickle on trips through there. What a great night for waterfalls. I'm really enjoying tonight's show.
I've got a vertical pano of the Gorge in the Cascades, it was my first time in the Cascades, and it rained 4 days straight, but there were falls everywhere, many of them just ad hoc.
