An after and before image from Perthshire in Scotland. Iwas going to walk to Fionn's rock but harsh light, no clouds, highland midges and unusually warm weather for Scotland dissuaded me but I will return when possible. This is a no name set of falls that I would like to photograph in more sympathetic light but I am happy with the monochrome version. Ken

I love what you are doing with these B&W series Ken. Nice rendering.

Have about a million waterfalls to choose from since I last participated in waterfall Wednesday! I submit this time, "Dismal Falls" in North Carolina. Dismal Falls is named after
"Dismal Creek" that Jim Bob Tinsley in his book, "Transylvania County: Land of Waterfalls" calls one of the "most forboding places in the Southern Appallachians." The hike to Dismal is not for the faint of heart. There is a very steep and lengthy ascent followed by an even steeper descent (most use ropes on the way down) to the base. Then, to get the profile views, we bushwhacked up very steep terrain to get to the shooting locations, dodged falling ice, and made our way out a different route. We went to three other nearby waterfalls in our all-day adventure. Was fairly tired by happy at the end. Anyway, here is Dismal Falls. Hope you like it.

I would call these images anything but dismal - really nice looking falls. Glad you made it to the prime viewing location so we could share the views :)

A pleasant dip into the many falls so far. I'll post one from Nichols Brook (Adirondacks) this fall after an outing with Dean:
I love the delicate flow and the delightful cascades of this place. The fall leaf colors jump out from the moss and the dark rocks. Very nice.
