Watson Lake Shoreline

I went boating with a friend a couple of days ago on Watson Lake, just outside of Prescott, Arizona. Watson is one of the prettiest lakes (actually reservoir) in the state in my opinion, as much of it is lined with the jumbled granite slabs of the Granite Dells. My buddy and I cruised the lake in his tiny (but stable) 14 ft motor boat with the intent of doing both bird and landscape photography. The weather was fickle, but we got some nice light, clouds and calmer conditions late in the day and I was able to capture this shoreline reflection. I really find it amazing the places that trees can survive!

Wow Guy! What a cool reflection there. Nice job shooting this from a small boat too.

Nice scene - normally the water lines around reservoirs is not all that attractive but in this case they add some nice contrast to the shores. Neat reflections and light here.

Shooting from a small fishing boat makes for a much more stable platform than that of a kayak. I saw a couple people trying to do that...much more problematic, I'm sure.
