When Magenta Rules the Skies

Sunsets along the Oregon coastline can be quite fickle and when the marine layer kicks in you have to be disappointed on the one hand and still on your toes on the other since you can still get a colored kicker before all the light is gone. This is one of those kickers from the beach at Bandon where the color magenta took over everything for a couple of minutes. Seemed like a nice image to end the year with....

C&C always welcome.

Love the soft light here Alan, You’re definitely accurate in you description of the quickly changing palette of colors at sundown on the coast. It can really be incredible in different 30-second increments. Well captured here.

Very nice Alan, one of my favorites from you, great light, great reflections on the sand and good placement of Face Rock in the scene such that the other stacks are well positioned.

I have to confess that I wasn't looking directly at Face Rock at all when I composed this shot. I was just thinking about the overall comp and the reflections while hand holding an ND grad filter.
