Some of the rock color/composition contrasts within the Bisti/De-na-zin wilderness area are quite stark. In this case I was struck by the brilliant bluish/white overlaid by the much harder orange/brown sandstone layer and the contrasts the layers present. The Bisti is full of unique contrasts that are surprisingly difficult to find good compositions in just because there is no real start/stop to the features. Having a good range of lenses with you helps when you need to isolate your subject. For the record this image was shot with a 100-400mm f/4.0L.
