For the longest time I have been occasionally trying to get a shot of my favorite colorful avian raider that visits our yard - the Stellars Jay. They are quite skittish in our urban environment and never stay put for more and one or two seconds but I finally managed to get a shot of one working over a corn cob on our back deck through a window.

Beautiful kick off as usual Eric. I managed to get a couple while I was at he Maze in Canyonlands.

This brewers black bird was hanging around camp looking for scraps, which we did not provide.

This great blue heron was maybe 150 yds away and spent most of the day in the vicinity of the Green River. Way too far away for good feather detail, but probably my longest shot. Hand held, RF800 f11 lens at 1/1000 iso 1600
