I'll start off today's Winged Wednesday with photos taken Monday at Lake Pleasant, Arizona.

Greylag Geese from a trip just across the Border in Southern Scotland. The weather was very Scottish. Ken

My contribution for Winged Wed. are pictures taken in the last week as spring begins to turn to summer and many migrants are back looking for partners and singing their melodic songs. A great time of year for birding in our area.

You have to love the amazing voice of the Brown Thrasher. Such a range of sounds.

Yellow-rumped Warblers are one of the most common warblers in our area as they head up north to breeding areas.

Song Sparrows are another bird with a lovely voice.

This Double-crested Cormorant flew into a local pond, did a quick sweep, diving a few times and then flew off.

Pretty sure this is a Red-eyed Vireo but the eye was not as red as usual. Now there is a persistent singer.

Thanks Eric.. I was pretty sure but the eye is often much redder.
