I was hiking with my wife this morning and she said, "you're always looking for birds." "Not true! Sometimes I'm listing to them," I replied. So my contribution for today's Winged Wednesday is singing birds.

These also make a pleasant sound on a warm summer's day. Taken during the recent hot spell with me sitting under a large awning watching the bees. It was too hot to try and get closer so taken with a 100-400mm lens @ 400mm. The middle image shot at ISO 20000, Deep Prime again. Ken

This is an irrigated field just north of Bishop where hawks can usually be seen. I pulled over on the side of the road last week because I saw these two next to each other. As I walked across the highway and approached the fence, one of the hawks screeched at me and flew off.

the 100 to 400 is a perfect macro lens. Outstanding series. BEEutiful

We tried really really hard to capture one of these guys in flight. They take off suddenly and fly erratically (and fast). I have some "almost sharp" images but that's it.

And yes, Africa is very far
