Winter Blooms

Yesterday I was wandering around my back yard looking for green things to shoot for this week's contest entry. One of my targets was a patch of heather that has nice January blooms. This shot wasn't as intense a shade of green as the ferns we have growing in our yard so this became a discard. I decided I should share some nice colors to hopefully brighten up someone's snowbound day instead of tossing the result. This is a focus stack using my elderly 28-70mm f/2.8.

So far this year not even much of that. The big chill and storms are missing us this year.
