Wintertime in Bishop

This sunrise photo comes from Buckley Ponds, just a few minutes east of Bishop, CA. It was after the Christmas blizzard at the end of 2021. I was up at the crack of dawn because I got an early morning call from work. I couldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to chase the sunrise. I was the only person in this spot; eventually a second photographer showed up, but he was late and missed the best part of the light.

This is one of the many reasons I love living here. I love how the peaks of the Sierra Nevada light up first in the morning, like they're being lit on fire.

Neat sunrise - nice combination of light, clouds, and reflections. Having the place to yourself while shot you shot all the light is even better :)

There was a time where I wanted to live in Bishop, so I am a bit envious Michael!

What a great shot from Buckley Ponds, and that is some really nice light you got.
