Yosemite

Very nice - the fresh dusting of snow and the young crop of icicles along the roof leaves a welcoming mood to the Chapel.

Thanks guys. Would you believe me if I told you it was an iPhone special? Although I used a different camera app that captures RAW files which I then processed like normal.

I also shot this with my Nikon D7100. I processed the Nikon first and loved it. Then I processed this one and loved it even better. The phones still have their shortcomings, but it's pretty impressive what you can do with them these days.

I totally believe it John. On more then one occasion I have gone back home to process one of my DSLR photos to look like the one I took on my iPhone. o_O

Well, this isn't an iPhone jpg, it was a fully processed (by me) RAW file taken with the phone. It's just amazing how good the quality of photo you can get nowadays with the phone cameras now that you can extract the RAW files. They have their limitations, but they absolutely are capable of some excellent work, especially for landscape where depth of field isn't so critical.

what app are you using for that?

There are many apps that let you capture the RAW data (at least speaking for iPhone). RAW has always been in the camera but it wasn't until ios 10 or 11 that Apple let developers actually access it.

This is the one I use... https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/procamera/id694647259?mt=8

Full disclosure - in addition to the purchase price, it requires in app purchases to access their HDR feature and another to utilize their low light feature. Total cost was around $16 if I recall. I'm not thrilled with their HDR but I am very impressed with their low light feature. The link below are all hand held shots obviously taken at night. While you can spot noise if you pixel peep, it is really darn good for hand held shots. It also has a VR mode that when engaged, will not snap the shutter until you are holding the phone still. How cool is that??? Well worth the money IMO.

I used both "cameras" on the trip to Yosemite this time and actually used the phone more. In situations and environments where it works, it is so nice to be able to quickly take out the phone and shoot knowing you have a RAW file to work with when you get home.
