Turning your cell phone camera upside-down?

On an iPhone the camera is up in a corner of the body so flipping the phone gets the lens a little closer to the ground. I can't see how that would make a difference with a DSLR or mirrorless camera.

    Reflections on a Mirror

Thanks Jim - that little pond is kind of protected by the cliffs so getting good reflections is pretty easy when the winds aren't howling.

    Fort Notz

Colorful facades for these vendors - reminds me of county fair midways. I have to wonder how many places like this one went under during the covid lockdowns. Their business model was dependent on lots of people gathering at their location which was the worst case scenario for spreading covid.

    Red Rocks Amphitheater

Looks like the one lady second from the right is getting some serious exercise heading up the rows. Unique view.

    A Garden Image

Colorful display. I might be inclined to clone out the telephone lines/pole and nearby structures in the upper right if this were my shot.

    Reflections on a Mirror

Thanks Jameel - I think there is more color to come but this weekend's storms might strip some of it away. The weatherdroids are predicting a lot of wind tomorrow and the topography of the Gorge tends to amplify wind events - especially in the narrow sections like this spot.

    Stevens Pass Highway - 05

The red barn is cute but I prefer the well aged wood in the first version of the scene. Neat aspen golds.

    Reflections on a Mirror

Thanks Doug - a very welcome change from last year's disappointing fall colors up in the Gorge.

    Reflections on a Mirror

Mirror Lake directly below Crown Point in the Columbia River Gorge from earlier this week. The lake is one of many such small lakes that were created by the berms of the freeway between Troutdale and Cascade Locks. The Columbia River used to flood this area every year prior to the construction...

2 for the price of one

    Waiting for the light

Glad you waited - the calm water and the clouds cooperated perfectly. I love the pano shot. The fogbow is pretty cool too.

    Deeper into Fall Colors

Thanks Jim - definitely a better color show than last year. A lot of these leaves may drop this weekend with the storms about to make things quite wet and accompanied by a fair amount of wind.

    Talastima (part 2)

The tour guides sound like an interesting experience to match the beauty of the place. I really like the looming clouds in this set of images and #2 and #4. Incredible formations.

    Jefferson County Municipal Building

Designed by an architect with a deep love for curved shapes. Quite distinctive.

    Summer Wildflowers at Red Rocks

Definitely a wild display of blooms - a pollinator's dream.

    A Touch of Winter

Beautiful view. Interesting to compare the images when so little of the scene contains color information but I do like the color with the higher contrasts of the mountains and the sky. The distant skyline contains more blue from the haze that adds more of a sense of depth to the view at least...

    A Fireball in the Sky!

The aliens have arrived :) Interesting how it seems to have a tail at each end. Sounds like an eventful night that was likely a bit on the cool side with the light snow cover combined with the winds.

    Surprised by the Fox!

Do you feel boring being a Fox who got snubbed by a fox? :p
