    Waterfall Wednesday 10/22/2025

Nice to see some more of your waterfalls Ken - incredible fall colors and some beautiful falls.

Winged Wednesday 10. 22.2025 : Birds! Bugs! Why Choose?

I am not much for being a patient bird photographer and tend to grab shots of them when an opportunity presents itself rather than wait for them to show up. Sneaking up on ponds to grab shots is one way to go about it but when you lack serious stealth-fu your best bet is to get better at...

    Waterfall Wednesday 10/22/2025

I wandered up the Gorge Monday to see what the fall colors looked like and was rewarded with near peak colors in the area around Multnomah Falls. This is a 3 shot vertical panorama of the falls as seen from roughly 300' above the Columbia River using a telephoto lens. I like shooting these falls...

Winged Wednesday 10. 22.2025 : Birds! Bugs! Why Choose?

Your wasp might be made out of wood but I see wings on it. Eric has never specified that your winged offerings have to be able to actually fly 😁

Your descriptive prose is directly competing with your images of the featured creatures Eric. Kudos to both :)

Old Filling Station on Hiwy 85

Signs from that era remind me just how distant a memory it is to recall pulling into a full service gas station when the attendant checked your oil, washed your windshield and checked the air in your tires while filling your tank with leaded gas. B&W is a good choice for this place.

    Glacier Point

Good call on the IR for this scene - a bit of an alien planet vibe to it that works well with this view.

    Early Colors in the Gorge

Thanks Jameel - this was a week ago and we are still short of peak color in most of the Gorge including this locale in Rooster Rock.

    Early Colors in the Gorge

Thanks Jim - for a lot of stores I have wandered into lately it certainly looks like December  Lots more colors visible up in this area when I went up for a visit yesterday. The area around Wahkeena and Multnomah Falls is pretty much at peak color right now.

    I Painted the Sunset

Looks like a nice sunset glow for my eyes at least at web resolution. A bit soft for the ground layer but that matches the skies.

    "Archipelago II"

I like the satin textures to the water surface and the isolation of the tufa formations with this capture. Very nice work.

    October sunrise...

Pretty intense sunrise colors. I like the first one for the intensity of the colors and the pano with wider view of the skies.

    Early Colors in the Gorge

This is another image from last week up in the Columbia River Gorge. I did go up again yesterday and the colors have advanced considerably and getting close to peak in places. I had already worked up this image from last week and haven't processed the new captures yet so lots more still to come...

    The Sierra Crest

Those peaks are a wonderful sight in the morning. Nice take on them with this B&W image - I like your use of the dark skies behind the line of peaks.

    Is it Whole or 2%?

Actually it's instant milk since it's all dried out. Just add water :) Nice.

    Mt. Rainier Icon Alert

Thanks Jameel - I confess to doing the same thing pretty much every time I visit the park. Its never really exactly the same each occasion so that's my excuse for doing it again :)
