I wandered up the Gorge Monday to see what the fall colors looked like and was rewarded with near peak colors in the area around Multnomah Falls. Signs from that era remind me just how distant a memory it is to recall pulling into a full service gas station when the attendant checked your oil, washed your windshield and checked the air in your tires while filling your tank with leaded gas. B&W is a good choice for this place.

Good call on the IR for this scene - a bit of an alien planet vibe to it that works well with this view.

Thanks Jim - for a lot of stores I have wandered into lately it certainly looks like December :rolleyes: Lots more colors visible up in this area when I went up for a visit yesterday. The area around Wahkeena and Multnomah Falls is pretty much at peak color right now.

Looks like a nice sunset glow for my eyes at least at web resolution. A bit soft for the ground layer but that matches the skies.

I like the satin textures to the water surface and the isolation of the tufa formations with this capture. Very nice work.

Pretty intense sunrise colors. I like the first one for the intensity of the colors and the pano with wider view of the skies.

This is another image from last week up in the Columbia River Gorge. I did go up again yesterday and the colors have advanced considerably and getting close to peak in places. I had already worked up this image from last week and haven't processed the new captures yet so lots more still to come...

Those peaks are a wonderful sight in the morning. Nice take on them with this B&W image - I like your use of the dark skies behind the line of peaks.

Actually it's instant milk since it's all dried out. Just add water :) Nice.

Thanks Jameel - I confess to doing the same thing pretty much every time I visit the park. Its never really exactly the same each occasion so that's my excuse for doing it again :)
