Here's a couple of sunsets using the Minolta Autocord TLR with Kodak Ektar 100. While these are decent, I feel like I am still in the rediscovery phase learning these film cameras and learning film. All are manual exposures. This is fun!
I last shot the above rangefinder camera 50 years ago and have't done anything with it except to put it on a display shelf. Well, with the recent surge in film photography, I thought I would look at cleaning it up and seeing what the camera can do. I replaced the light seals and cleaned the...
You may remember the rainbow shot I posted at this location. Well, just before the rainbow appeared, the sky lit up seemingly on fire.
Incidentally, I published the completed portfolio of images from my recent trip to the southwest. If you're so inclined, take a look...
My first visit to ground zero in NYC. As a child, I watched the construction of the Twin Towers. This was my fist visit.
#1 - Ghost of the Twin Towers
#2 - Rememberance
Driving along the highway just outside Monument Valley we could see the rains moving in. As they got closer, we stopped a few times long the highway to capture the scene.
When I approached Shiprock the afternoon before these morning shots, the cloud cover made me wanting to get long exposures with the clouds streaking toward me. Of course, the sky was so blah (until that rainbow appeared) that no streaking would be possible. Fast forward to the next morning and...
Another great location during Mark Metternich's Southwest White Pocket Workshop. This image taken near Gooseneck Park and Mexican Hat. However, if you didn't know the access point, you will never find it! Sunrise started with a glow but didn't quite develop into much of anything. I was literally...
This rock formation looks like a centipede to me. I could have photographed White Pocket for days. So many possibilities with these twisted multicolored rocks. More to come.
The next part of this journey is a visit to White Pocket. This required two hours of off-roading to reach this area and we arrived just before sunset. This area consists of wave like formations in the rock making for some great photographic possibilities. From the recent rains, some pools of...
This image is taken high above Lee's Ferry looking down river at the beginning of the Grand Canyon. Journey to this spot requires high clearance 4x4 vehicles so the journey was half the fun. We enjoyed this view without anyone else around making the scene all the more majestic.
To get this shot, we woke up at 3am, drove 10 miles off road at 5 mph and hiked 1.5 miles. We didn't see another person the entire time. We just made it before sunrise and rewarded with this view. This is not Horseshoe Bend but another bend in the Colorado River much less accessible. Damn...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
