Well, I've been on the road for so long that my Focal World account expired! Took care of that right away. As some of you know, I've been on assignment as Chief Campaign Photographer for Dean Phillips for President (I know, Dean who?). I've been spending all my time in New Hampshire...
Hey everyone . . . I'm finally off the campaign trail after three straight weeks and in Florida with family for the Thanksgiving week. It is a much needed break. Anyway, I finally got to do some landscapes. My first morning visit to the beach. Aaahhhhhh . . . .
I've been given the opportunity to photograph the latest candidate for U.S. President, Dean Phillips. He launched his candidacy today in New Hampshire. While I have many photos of the candidate himself, one of my favorites from today is of the media. With no intention of being political, I hope...
I did a visit to the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge yesterday. It has become a stopping point for Sandhill Cranes migrating south. To get here, I had to hike two miles from the main road and there's very limited access to this spot. Just five years ago migration numbers were in the...
We had more than 3.5 inches of rain yesterday! This morning, the skies begain to clear and the clouds were moving so fast, it looked like watching a timelapse in real time. This is a four minute exposure on Lake Minnetonka, MN.

Sunset is moving further and further out of view as the days grow shorter. In June, sunset is straight out the back door. Soon, sunset will be hidden from our view until spring.
A big thunderstorm rolled through this evening. I saw it on radar out to my west and thought I would have a chance at some lightning. So set up the camera to continuously shoot 10 second exposures. Well the lightning stayed behind the clouds and then the wind picked up with gusts to 50 mph...
I spent the weekend visiting friends in the north east portion of Wisconsin. It wasn't a photography weekend but I was able to snap a few during a boat ride.

Another scene from White Pocket, AZ.
I processed this image with techniques learned from Mark Metternich during the workshop I attended. It involves converting the image to black and white using raw layers in photoshop . . . non-destructive editing. I can convert the sky separately from the...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
