    The Tiny Island of Discontent

I'm not sure why, but this island appears quite unhappy. Or maybe it just needs it's coffee.

Early Spring in a Real(TM) Rainforest

Love the greens, love the moss. This looks and feels just like the places in the Gorge that I call home!

    Intense reds

I've never seen so many reds dominating an area like this! Definitely peak color!

    Mt. Jefferson

You're killing it with the aerials lately! It must be nice to shoot sunrises without having to drive somewhere first.

    Latourell Blues

Thanks guys! I am finding that scenes with more foliage have a better chance of looking good to me without a channel swap. Scenes with more sky and clouds I tend to channel swap.

A Nice Start to the Day

This goes well with a nice cup of coffee. January is THE month around here for these colorful sunrises, glad you snagged this one!

    Latourell Blues

Latourell Falls, in the Columbia River Gorge, shown here in 590nm Infrared. My normal processing usually includes a Red-blue channel swap to make the sky go blue, but here I omitted that step to show the colors my internal filter gives straight out of camera.

    The Kids of Cambodia

Thanks Jim, this was during my film-digital transition. At one point I carried a little Canon G4 along with my 35mm film gear. It was too much gear to haul around while traveling, but I was younger then!

    The Kids of Cambodia

Well thank you sir! I have participated in a few shows at local galleries, but never had my own portrait show. I have had a landscape show but that was years ago. Nowadays it's too expensive to submit to galleries so I just make photos for fun. I haven't made a single print since I retired in 2022!

    The Kids of Cambodia

Thanks Alan - back then I was running an E-6 processor at work and the more film you ran through it, the better the process stayed within control limits, so I had free slide processing for all those trips. I bought my film in 100 foot rolls and loaded 40 exposure film canisters. Lead bags and...

    The Kids of Cambodia

Between 1996 and 2006 I visited Cambodia three times. I never had more than a week in country each time, so I kept returning to visit different areas. These images were shot on Ektachrome slide film then scanned to digital files. This young lady was just passing by as we had lunch at a...

    Blue and cold

This photo of downtown Portland, OR was taken just past sunset when it was time to turn on some lights! Taken from the East Bank Esplanade on a cold day in January.
