    "Tapestry"

Well seen and captured. Shows both the uniformity and whimsical side of Mother Nature.

    Cathedral Gorge - Looking Ahead

There is a decent campground there with showers, but forget running into town for supplies, there's nothing around. I have stayed there a few times and loved it. Good astro location too! Nice detail you captured in the "cathedrals". Did you also shoot at night?

    Hoodoo Heaven

This is my favorite of the Toadstool Hoodoos near Paria, Utah. It's the first one you see hiking in from HWY 89, but you will find many more as you continue hiking north. A great place to spend a few hours with a camera!

    High Desert Volcanism

Thanks Trent! When I finally do make it to the moon, I hope it has clouds like these!

    High Desert Volcanism

Thanks guys! Anytime I pass by a solitary rock formation I stop if there are clouds around. God knows most times there are just boring blue skies.

    High Desert Volcanism

If you're heading west on AZ HWY 160, just east of Kayenta, you'll pass this view. Several volcanic plugs, lined up in a row to the north, several miles apart. One of the distant peaks is Agathla, sacred to the Navajo People.

    Sailors take warning

Thanks Alan, this is rare non channel swapped final IR image for me. Added saturation to the reds.

    Sailors take warning

I doubt any sailor has suffered through any peril on this stretch of the Colorado River near Moab, Utah, but there are rapids in both directions eventually. 665nm converted Nikon DSLR.

    Sea of Clouds

Thanks guys! The proper name is Marquam Hill, but it got the name Pill Hill because of all the hospitals crammed onto the one hill. Snow days were always memorable there.😪

    Sea of Clouds

Taken from the top of Pill Hill in Portland, Mount Hood rises above a sea of clouds in this winter sunrise from a few years ago.

    A Brookings sunset

The colors are lovely and I don't think I've ever seen the Pacific more pacific!

    Lean on Me

Thanks Jim. I am thinking the same thing, maybe even as far south as Joshua Tree in February.

    Bokeh Ball Squall

Whenever I have an elevated night view of city lights I try to make a few images. I combined parts of several frames to create this monster.

    Lean on Me

Thanks Alan. A family of photogenic Joshua Trees is always a good reason to stop the car!

    Lean on Me

Or ... push me over - depends on your point of view. Roadside on the Extraterrestrial Highway in Nevada.
