Hi Alan, thanks for the comments. Yeah, this is a demonstration of how the Q handles macro mode. I shot this at f/1.7 which the Leica changes to f/2.8 when the lens shifts. The glowing part of the flower is sharp and in focus and that leaf is in the same focal plane, which is obviously pretty thin.

One of the features that caught my eye with the Leica Q was that instead of an electronic macro mode, the 28mm Summilux lens on the Q actually shifts the rear element a few mm's away from the sensor. This is the equivalent of adding an extension tube, allowing for much closer focus. The drawback...

Thanks guys. I work at a refinery in the Carson area....this unit uses very high pressure and temperature (the size of the pipe flanges is a clue) across a catalyst to remove sulphur and nitrogen from heavy gas oil, that is then further processed into gasoline and LPG products.

Hi Alan, the top two on the left are steam turbine controls for a Hydrogen gas compressor. The two top on the right are a couple views of an air cooler, the bottom left is a cable tray and bottom right are heater coil control valves used to balance flow. Greg

Nice set here Craig! I really like third for it's simple beauty and the seventh for the nice contrast in texture between the bird's feathers and thorny thistle looking plant it's perched upon!
