    Pacman Nebula - IC 11

Nice capture Jim ! Will have to agree with Ben about the noise but that will disappear with more data accumulated...the SNR thing...

The Rosette Nebula in Narrowband OHS

Yours will be great as well Jim once you get more data. Remember you can always come back at a later date and collect more. We both seem to have similar fov's so will be interesting to see how yours evolves.

The Rosette Nebula in Narrowband OHS

The gorgeous Rosette emission nebula or Caldwell 49 is a vast HII region and very active stellar nursery about 5,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Monoceros and about 130 light-years across. The stars in the central 'Satellite Cluster' provide the nebula's glow. This is one of my...

Rosette Nebula during the Full Moon

Great result again Jim for such a short integration time ! A bright Moon has never stopped me from imaging but when I do I try and select my targets with an angular separation of at least 60deg from the moon. I hope you will acquire more data on this one ! I am about to post my version soon...

Orion (M42) and the Running Man (SH2-279) Nebula in LRGB

I used to extract stars in the linear stage as well but since switching to the 3nm NB filters I find the stars are a lot smaller and they can handle a stretch without too much distortion CS Carlos

Orion (M42) and the Running Man (SH2-279) Nebula in LRGB

Check this vid out for a simple way to use GHS, boils down to 3 stretches and he explains it really well: My current workflow is DynamicCrop -> LinearFit -> ColourCombination -> Background Extraction (DBE/ABE) -> BackgroundNeutralization -> SCNR(Green) -> ColourCalibration (now using SPCC) ->...

NGC 2070 Tarantula Nebula in Narrowband HSO

Thanks Mike ! Appreciate your comments! Haha us SH'ers have our own share of gorgeous targets and this is definitely one of them, not too hard to shoot and process. But you NH'ers have your own share as well ! Wow, are you heading down this way in 2023? Awesome ! If you're planning a trip to...

Orion (M42) and the Running Man (SH2-279) Nebula in LRGB

Thanks Mike ! Yes Orion is always tricky especially if you want a decent core and the outer cloud and dust lanes to display. PI's GHS again proved its worth by handling the stretch pretty decently. Also, 60s seemed a good enough long exposure for my gear to bring out the above. Can't wait to see...

Running Man and The Orion Nebula

Awesome amount of detail ! and an interesting color palette but I guess the moon had something to say about that. Pity the core and trapezium couldn't be more defined but it is a really hard target to process. May I ask what your exposures were ? If you are using PixInsight the...

M33 - Triangulum Galaxy - My Best Galaxy Yet!

Looking good Jim! Once you get more data you will find the noise levels decrease even further. I find for galaxies 7 to 8 hours is a minimum for me. You should open up an Astrobin account now ! :)
