While visiting Mon in Connecticut, I got a tip to visit Kent Falls State Park so I left at the crack of dawn to search this place. Kent, CT is a quaint New Englad town but 5 miles to the north is the park with this waterfall that went on forever. Of course, traveling to see mom meant I left my...
Flaming Star and Tadpole Nebulas
120 minutes @ 20s each. EQ mode. Bortle 4 Processed in Pixinsight and LR.
My first time using EQ mode and it seemed to go smoothly. Also, because I changed the framing, this ended up a mosaic.
I plan to add more data to see if the Seestar can resolve more...
I added more data last night. This image is now 100 minutes total integration time. Still Alt/Az as I cannot see Polaris from my vantage point. The resulting image is much improved over my previous post with more nebulosity. I like it.
Hey, thanks Jim. The only reason I'm doing 10 second subs is that I'm using Alt/Az mode. I'm shooting from a balcony that doesn't have good access for equatorial mode. I'm collecting more data tonight as we speak. We'll see if that improves the image.
My little travel scope continues to amaze. This image is 30 minutes of 10s exposures in Alt/Az mode while in Keystone, CO. I plan to add more data to this set as I can.
I agree regarding the trees but from the deck on the condo where I'm staying in Keystone was the only suitable foreground element. Still a good first test.
Seestar S30 Pro star trail mode. 6hrs of data. I used AI to remove light trails from planes and satellites. While it was calm, some breeze must have kicked up during the 6hr acquisition to blur the trees. Finally, I cropped the image to a 3:2. Next time, I'll find a more static foreground...
Thanks so much Jim! I think I’ve developed my process but there are always surprises. I still balance off how much I do in Pixinsight vs Lightroom. My photography processing has reallly helped.
we’ve had so many cloudy days/nights that the Origin has had little use. In fact, while it’s set up...
Another go at the Orion Nebula. Alt/Az, 10 minutes total data at 10s exposures with the Seestar S30 Pro. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight and Lightroom. Amazing little scope.
Thanks Jim. The second image is definitely better from a processing standpoint. Both images are cropped. I do minimal cropping in Pixinsight and final cropping in Lightroom.
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
