Most of you have seen Monika's recent star shots from Sky Pond in the RMNP in Colorado, here is one I took almost a month ago. To avoid going down the waterfall climb in the dark that Monika described in her Thread and to be able to shoot both sunset, the stars and sunrise I just stayed up there...
Hey guys!
Had some time to post this image, taken before the MW session on Sunday, this is the view over Ramon Crater, catching the last light of the sunset.

Lunar Spirits
The transition between evening and the darkness of the night has special light properties. It is not dark yet but the daylight is vanishing quickly, and the spirits of the night are waking up.
It was long after the sunset when I took this photo, but beautiful light kept me...
As Dave (Thorhammer) and I headed back to our cars after a successful evening of shooting in Long Beach California we spotted that the moon was now almost above the beams of light. It didn't take too much moving on our part to get the moon line up with the beams. It was kind of cool to see...
SW Colorado is a beautiful place. This shot started with me up at Molas Pass shooting, but as the sunset colors faded and shifted to some other clouds off to the side, I quickly packed up and raced over to Andrews Lake and got some cool shots with some late sunset colors as twilight started to...
This is from last fall in Colorado. I decided to start exploring the passes just west of Denver last year. It worked out well, as I could stay at my daughters house which is north of Denver, help take the grandkids to school in the morning and then I would leave and go explore and shoot as this...
Well, I found it at Treasure Island in Laguna Beach. This is a fun little area, not far from a fancy hotel so if you don't like lot's of people, this won't be the place for you. But it's still a fun area and one where you can get isolated shots pretty easily. The tide is the key as in a lot of...
I hated to borrow Ben's Moonscape title, but he did inspire me to find this one, so hopefully Ben doesn't mind. It's from South Coyote Buttes one frozen winter where I spent some time shooting the landscape as the moon lit up the ground as bright as day. Since I focused on the alien feel of the...
Just a simple Colorado ranchland scene in the San Juan's over by Ridgway. The moon was looking really cool so I was off in the area leading to Owl Creek Pass and came across this location.

I've taken quite a few shots of this easy access tree on the edge of Mesquite Dunes, but haven't gotten anything special until this morning after a quiet sunrise out on the dunes.

This was a bit after my first Blood Moon, going wider and getting it with the local oil rigs and port area of Long Beach California.

Even though I got back late yesterday driving from Colorado, May wanted to go shoot the Super Moon Eclipse this morning at the beach. So I woke up at 4:30am and we headed down to Huntington Beach. I knew from using TPE that the moon would set over the Long Beach/Palos Verde Peninsula area, but...
In a play off of Craig's Edge series of real edges in Utah Landscapes, I have one from Arches where the sun and moon were heading in unison to the edge of the horizon.

From Goblin Valley no less. There are so many fun compositions, and this case with the moon I was keeping things on the darker side. I hope it works.

Heading back from New Mexico a month or so ago, I began to visually track the moon and see where I could maybe capture it as it was setting. Looking at the time, I figured I could get it around the Needles area of California/Arizona. I have shot the cool mountains by the Colorado river there...
A very thin crescent moon, its reflection, Venus and a fisherman getting ready, at Pickthorne Lake, Cabot, AR. Full 50 minutes before sunrise this morning.
