This is also from last weekend at Woods Cove in Laguna Beach. One of the cool things to me about these holes that are fed from below with the surging water is how they go from empty to rising and looking like there is this water bubble being created as the water tops it and flows over.

Last Saturday the tide was going to be at the correct height to make this mini Thor's Well work along with some nice splash points around it. The sunset wasn't spectacular, but it was workable and the whole combination made for a really nice evening. This is located in Laguna Beach California...
This is from El Matador beach in SoCal. It's one I don't get to shoot very often because it's on the far side of LA from me. I was out shooting with Sunny and we hung around after the sun had set to capture the ambient city lights providing a light source on the rocks and the clouds.

A continuation from my thread earlier of Golden Glow. This is in Little Corona and as the sun lowered it transitioned from Golden to Pink coloring. It was certainly wonderful to behold and fun to capture even with frequent wiping off of the lens element from the rain drops.

This is a sunset from the other day down at Little Corona beach in Corona Del Mar California. It had been raining as I was driving down, the opening in the clouds as I was driving appeared to be too far north of me, but I continued on and am glad I did.

This is from Little Corona in Corona Del Mar in SoCal. It's one from the archives, and I have found it's interesting sometimes when I look through the archives at certain shots like this and I wonder if today I would have been able to capture it differently?
For instance shooting into the sun...
Even though I got back late yesterday driving from Colorado, May wanted to go shoot the Super Moon Eclipse this morning at the beach. So I woke up at 4:30am and we headed down to Huntington Beach. I knew from using TPE that the moon would set over the Long Beach/Palos Verde Peninsula area, but...
Here is one of those great SoCal sunsets when the clouds just glow and glow. It seemed fitting to post and warm me up a bit as I was out in RMNP again tonight to shoot the sunset. It was not as cold as yesterday here, but it was windier. Fortunately the clouds were even better then yesterday and...
From Little Corona in SoCal, this frame had a little bit of a splash to it. Not a lot, but hopefully enough to compliment the scene.

A shot from Huntington Beach where I had a moment of clear thinking... Not sure how long that lasted...
I have seen other photos of piers, shooting down them with cool effects as the pilings formed the borders on both sides. Huntington Beach is the beach I shoot most often and it's pier...
I haven't been there late this year to shoot this, but the pier always looks cool when they add the snowflakes to the pier light posts. In this one I was just playing around with different reflections in the sand as they would change with every wave.

This was from a few years back at Little Corona Beach in SoCal. The incoming water hit this foreground rock in such a way that when it splashed it formed this tube. I have shot a zillion times at Little Corona, and had never seen it do that before or after. To me, it's so different it looked...
I met up with @J. M. Livingston a couple of weeks ago in Woods Cove in Laguna Beach. The clouds weren't looking to give way to any color, but at the last minute the sky opened up and gave way to a really nice display of color that wouldn't end. It seemed like the color would never stop, and we...
I shot this a week ago with Ryan Luna who had listed a Meetup in the Meetup and Events Forum here. We had a fun time exploring this area by 1000 Steps Beach.
We had gone to hopefully shoot some old man made pools there, but in the end I think we gravitated to this sea cave a bit more.

Little Corona just south of Newport Beach is my favorite go to location. Here is one from post sunset. I will have to post some of the sunset ones later where the fog glowed golden light. In this one that golden glow had faded, but I still liked the mood.

Here is a few more from the famous Wedge in Newport Beach. It's a wild and crazy place there, no surfers just body boarders often only using their bodies without even a board.
These are pano crops to focus the frame better.

Huntington Beach has some of the most fantastic sunsets around. Add to that the variety of compositions with adding in the pier, adding in surfers, body boarders, etc. it's a great place to shoot.

The colors are sunset were nice, but I really like the tones in this image so I converted it to B&W. It was taken in Laguna Beach California.

I was out shooting the sunset at Laguna Beach last week, and after the sunset show was over, I turned back around and liked how the city was being lit up in the cove I was in, and the details in the tide pool in the ground.

Ryan went and put out a last minute call for a meet up at Huntington Beach last week. It's a cool feature that hopefully more people will use in the future as it's always fun to connect and shoot with others.
Anyway... Ryan posted a couple of his photos, I finally got to processing one of the...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
