This is another look at the red waterfall that I found in Arches National Park in Utah after some heavy rain a week or so ago. These 2 are closer shots from the previous as I slowly worked my way in shooting as I went.
As I review these they almost take an unlevel look to them that even had me...
From last week, I made an early run from Moab up to Mesa Arch. It had snowed during the night so it was fun to hike in over the virgin snow with no foot prints but mine. There ended up being maybe 6 people there total, which worked out nicely and everyone cooperated well.
I went to pull back on...
This is from last week, I stopped by Goosenecks State Park in Utah for the sunset on the way to Monument Valley. This is a very cool place to stop and shoot and also to camp out at. It's highly recommended.

When I was in Arches I spotted this red waterfall flowing. I passed it by, but it only took a few seconds to realize that I needed to make a U-turn. Which I did and I went back to shoot it. Later that evening I decided to go back again as I wanted to be able to get in closer to it to shoot...
I got this a few years ago on a spring break trip to Zion. It was sleeting most of the day, so we were "car hiking" up the canyon. I had my tripod set-up on my seat in front of me and shot through the window at the walls after my wife stopped at a pull out.
After leaving Moab this morning heading sought on hwy 191 came across Wilson Arch. It’s a huge arch that is next to the road. Since it was morning, I did work a few shots with the sun.
This was processed from the D850 to the iPhone with only global adjustments, so I couldn’t remove the small...
This one already posted previously on FW, but qualifies for the topic, and being a night person, I have an embarrassingly small number of sunrise (and even fewer pre-sunrise) images for someone calling themselves a scenic landscape photographer.
Dead Horse Point State Park, minutes before the...
This is from Goblin Valley in Utah a few years back but the rock structures made me feel like I was in Egypt with Pharaoh's watching over the valley.

I think this is one of my better light painting attempts, taken at The Devil's Garden, UT. While I like it, it doesn't feel as real as the non-painted version. Personally I don't like visiting a popular spot where a bunch of people are painting - obviously it intrudes on the experience of others...
Another from the San Rafael Reef are looking over the Swell in Utah. This is right off the I-70, and I composed this just above where the I-70 passes in the foreground.

This is from a sunrise in Utah. As I am traveling, the San Rafael Reef is a favorite area of mine to stop when it's close to sunrise or sunset since there are so many cool land formations there and also you have lot's of options as to what direction you need to shoot to capture clouds that are...
So no doubt another cliche' location, at the end of the easier lower trail that takes you to this wonderful view. Still a bit of an accomplishment for me, to have gotten up early enough in the morning to still catch morning light up here. Yes Imknow, how can I be a true scenic photographer and...
On our recent trip to UT, on the way to Capitol Reef National Park from Moab, we came across one of the many bizarre rock formations that are all across southern Utah. These were right up against the highway.
I almost did not ask to stop, as we had the rest of our party following in another...
I found a Goblin that the Egyptians might have used as a model for the Sphynx. This is from Goblin Valley in Utah, a really awesome place to visit and explore.
