Of the hundred or so Elephant Seals at Piedras Blancas in Big Sur California, only a few were really active towards sunset. This was one of them. This seal seemed to genuinely respond to my smiling at him. This was at 450mm with the Tamron 150-600mm G2 on a Nikon D850.

Well, after seeing your pictures Jim, I ordered a Tamron 150-600mm G2. I just got home from a trip and it's too late to play with it. I'm off tomorrow. So hopefully I'll get a chance to get outside and play.

It looks to me like he is smiling back. Great image, Jim.
