Three great S&S examples you’ve shared Doug, I particularly like the Eggshell Arch image. The Waterhole Canyon image is nicely captured and my favorite. The Upheavel Dome and the extending area beyond look very photographically interesting.

Alan "The Watchman" if you could take a chainsaw to the half tree on the right this would be what AI would produce as the perfect landscape location and light. Ken

Alan, great and varied examples of S&S you’ve shared—the Watchman is my first favorite (of course!) but the Crescent Bay image is a very close runner-up! The Painted Hills image is another interesting image with its shadows and the sunlit foreground—nice!

Here are a few - I was looking for examples where I felt the relationship between light and shadow was an important part of the image. Hopefully these work.

1) Bowman Lake sunshine spotlighting the larches on the south shore

2) Light shining through the Pfeiffer arch with the rest in shadow

3) Yosemite falls in full light with the valley floor and foreground in shadow

4) A racing rock in sunlight with the background in shadow

Beautiful examples for this week's theme Kyle––once again you never fail to impress. I love the tranquil feel of the Bowman Lake image––the reflection, colors and composition all comprise a faultless landscape. The Pfieffer arch image, an outstanding capture, is perhaps my favorite––but the Yosemite Falls is also a great candidate. Love its composition for the foreground shadows in blue which echo the sky above and off-center placement of the falls. The "racetrack rock" image works well with the stark contrast in sunlit foreground and shadowed mountains beyond.
