Winter Harvest

It looks like they are only harvesting snow at this point. :)

This was from a month ago in Colorado. Grandkid #9 had just been born the day before, and this was on the way back from the hospital heading towards my daughters house north of Denver. I saw that the sunset looked like it might be cool, so I turned off the highway down a side road that passes through a bunch of farming land and saw this irrigation unit and thought that it might make for a nice lead in line and foreground attraction.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

A distinctly different leading line into the scene. The untracked snow and the skies are a nice combination.

Do the farmers need to fully drain systems like this to prevent freeze damage?

Valley gets around I see that brand all over my travels. I suspect they blow them out for winter Alan. Great colors here Jim.

Hey Jim,

I really like the position of the near unit within the color. I'm surprised the mountains aren't more snow-covered with the state of the ground.

I see these irrigation devices a lot as I drive as I am sure you do too, and I have always thought they could be cool in a photo. I have few shots of them now that I kind of like.

There was almost a foot of snow I think. I am guessing those are trees on the mountain/hill sides and maybe the snow didn't stick as well to the branches? It had been windy.
