Did you add Magenta? Parts of this look to purple to me. Maybe a bit less would open up the hues.

    Icon Alert: Yei Bi Chai

Hi Jeffrey, sorry for being so blunt. That is just my style. Here's my take on this: There is competition for the focal point. As usual with wide angle lenses, the foreground is too dominant. And that blue opening in the sky is a distraction. Guess I'd ask: what was the story you wanted to tell?

Does this look real to you?

Late afternoon break in the clouds on the Emerald Coast. Didn't jack up any of the colors--that is against my religion. But did take some magenta out, and lighten the green. Oh, and warmed up the sand. Amazing things can be seen here. But, if you think it does not have the art, I will just...

And there is way too much foreground.

Fix that hole in the clouds!

4x5 is an eloquent ratio. Great when you can get it.

    Sunset wave and clouds

It was a placid evening on the Gulf. Sunset itself was too bright, but these high clouds really took on great color later. For this one, I took advantage of a passing boat. Knew it would throw a wake. Used that for my foreground. Think it works. Other shots from this sequence have that sandbar...

Love it, but that little dune on the left keeps pestering me for attention. I'd like it to go away.

    Sunset wave and clouds

Haven't shown any others from this shoot, but, yes, I completely understand how much of a drag it is when low clouds come in on the Pacific Coast. One of the reasons I no longer live there.

    study of light

I can't figure out what is going on. Looks like 3 different pics layered over each other. How could the top be so back, when there is such strong light on the middle?

    Sunset wave and clouds

First shot in sequence that became one of the best sunsets of last year.

First one is the best. I like the natural color.

Storm light on the Emerald Coast.

I could just darken that area in LR, or, maybe when I learn Photoshop, use a layer thing.

Super quick edit. I'll make it better. But, here was the first pic in the sequence.

Storm light on the Emerald Coast.

Hi Friends. Thanks for commenting. I love critical comments, because, how else do you learn? I'm processing these pics with bright, daylight balanced lights on my screen. I use these because in winter, I tend to get depressed. Find that blasting bright light in my face helps. Maybe, that pic...

Storm light on the Emerald Coast.

This was just one of an amazing sequence. Before the light hit, there was a sand bar in the foreground that was cool. Hard to get the temp balanced on that one, too, but I could work on it and show irt if you'd like.

Storm light on the Emerald Coast.

I like the bluer look. But miss my happy bubbles! Went back into LR, turns out, I had increased warmth in the bottom half. This was a remnant of my first take that I missed. Thank you for pointing it out. As I get better in LR, hopefully there will be fewer mistakes like this.

Looking at this again, I think Kyle is right. It's easy to fall in love with a certain aspect of your pic, hard to crop it out.

Looks like an extreme crop? That was my first reaction.
